My previous employer did not pay me what can I do?
I recently quit a job and has not worked there long …. I'm just suspect received a check for the 17 hours I worked, but they refuse to give me my check. They said I was never on the payroll. I filled all the paper work before they stopped and I have a time card that says I was clocked in 17 hours, but it is not me my check. What can I do as far as the Filing a complaint and get right to the test I was working? Also anyone know a good solicitor (sp) in the central portion of Ohio, which will represent me and my case. Preferabley attourny one who is paid only if they win my case.
Send your employer a demand letter stating how much you are owed, and if you want to pay be and the evidence / documents that you back up your claim. Send the letter by registered mail, return receipt requested. Keep a copy of the letter and the original Documents / evidence. If he does not pay to bring an action in small claims court and use a copy of the letter and all other documents and evidence at the hearing.
